An AI consultancy. At its best with ecommerce.
Practical Reason is founder-led and deliberately small. We help businesses put AI where it actually pays back, and we're at our sharpest with Shopify and ecommerce, where we've run live systems for two years. No sales team, and we never take a cut of your ad spend. If a system we build doesn't earn its place on your bottom line, we tell you.
Run small, on purpose.
Practical Reason exists because almost every "AI for ecommerce" pitch in 2025 sold tools, not results. The numbers rarely added up, and the demo was always someone else's store.
So we built the opposite. For two years, the systems behind Practical Reason have run live, every day, inside real Shopify businesses: email campaigns, blog content, AI-search visibility, brand-accurate copy and on-brand image generation. Quiet systems that run on their own and do the work a team would have hired several people to cover.
Practical Reason is that work, packaged. The same systems, run the same way, now available to any serious Shopify store without building an in-house AI team.
Small on purpose. Every sprint is founder-led, twelve a quarter, no exceptions. If more comes in than that, we tell you straight and add you to the queue.
We look after these systems for real stores. We don't just advise on them.
Built by someone who does the work, not someone who sells slides
Principles that make it into the work.
Brand values are easy. These are the rules you'll actually see in how we work with you, week to week.
Three moves, in this order.
Most projects follow this shape. We never sell you anything bigger than the next step.
